Craft Queen Christmas in July - Tags

Hi Ladies,

Craft Queen is having Christmas in July this month, so I thought I would share a few tags and a card made using the Kaisercraft Turtle Dove Collectables with some pretty ribbons and embellishments available in store.

Cardinal Tag

The background on this tag was created using some Dylusions mists in red and green then spraying a Quatrefoil mask with water and randomly pressing onto the dried misted area, making sure you hold the mask in place for about 10 to 20 seconds so that the water will react with the mist.  I layered some ribbons and a border from the Collectables pack at the bottom of the tag, then layered a few more of the Collectables with foam tape in the centre of my tag. I finished of  with a satin seam binding bow, topped with a pearl embellishment.

Christmas Joy Tag

For this tag I covered the top and bottom with red floral washi tape then overlayed with some paper from the Pickled Pear 6" pad which was stamped with a Christmas background stamp.  The bottom of the pp was punched then layered with some ric rac and gathered lace.  It's so easy to used the diecut collectables.  I just layered a few from the Turtle Dove Collection together with some foam tape, then finished off the tag with a pretty ribbon bow.

Craft Queen - Viva Inka Gold and Croco Crackling

Hi LadiesI have a LO to share which I created to display at the recent Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo using more of the beautiful Prima Lyric range of papers and some yummy Craft Queen products, including some Viva Inka Gold pastes and Viva Croco Crackling.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
The background on this LO was created using some Viva croco crackling in white,  I then lightly rubbed some Viva Inka Gold - lava red on the edges of the croco crackling and used a wet ones to dab the colour outwards to create a watercolour effect, so the lava red softened out to a pinky-red colour.

I used the lava red paste with a Prima mask, and applied it to some acetate, and when dry, which only takes a few minutes, I cut around the design and layered the pieces under my flower cluster.  I also used the inka gold paste to colour the black and silver acrylic butterflies, by applying to my finger and lightly rubbing over the top.  Inka Gold pastes are fabulous for altering non porous embellishments like charms, acrylic, buttons, wood, chipboard etc, anything you can think of and it dries in minutes!!  LOVE this product check out the Craft Queen link HERE to see the colours Nicole has in store.
Craft Queen has silver and black and also some new silver and gold acrylic embellishments in store, which I have used here on my LO.  They come in attached in a piece and you just cut off what you need.

Once Upon a Sketch - July Challenge - GROW

Hi Ladies,
I have the new challenge details for this month at Once Upon a Sketch which are:

Journalling Theme: "Grow"
Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below.

Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.
Click on the link HERE to see all the gorgeous creations from out amazing Design Team and Guest Designers and while you're there check out all the fabulous prizes from our generous sponsors.
We have a new sponsor at OUAS this month, along with their Design Team, the wonderful Swedish manufacturer Inkido

Here is my take on this month's theme.  I have used the quote "A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a wonderful friend." to go with this photo of my beautiful Brittany and me... not so beautiful, but at least I am smiling.  My journaling is hidden in a pocket on the back of my LO.

I am loving the Prima Lyric range, so gorgeously feminine!!  The weatherboard background paper was altered around the edges with some gesso, layered Prima and Stampendous stamps and a few randomly placed punched border pieces.  The strips under the silhouetted photo were leftover scraps layered together with some beautiful lace, a little bit of washi tape and a few more punched border pieces.  I softened the background layers with a bit of gesso to tie in with the outside edges of the background.

List of Materials:  Imaginarium chipboard hearts, Prima Lyric and K and Co pp's, Craft Queen rosette trim and washi tape, Manor House Creations flower, 7 Gypsies velvet leaves, Lace, metal charms, recycled bling, Kaisercraft sparklets, Martha Stewart punch, Cheery Lynn butterfly die, Prima, Stampendous and MME stamps, Lindy's Stamp Gang mist, gesso, Brilliance and Prima inks, Adornit tiny alpha stickers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
