Dusty Attic DT - Masculine Grunge Layout

Hi Everyone!!
It's Cathy here sharing a masculine grunge layout created with gorgeous chipboard, a stencil and mediums from The Dusty Attic.

"Enjoy The Journey"

To create my background, I have mixed the Dusty in Colour - Gingernut with gel medium to create a coloured texture paste.  I then masked my patterned paper with the Distressed Diamonds stencil using the gingernut texture paste.  Once dry, I randomly stamped over the background, then used the Dusty in Colour - Clear Gloss Varnish to randomly apply some copper Mica Flakes to give my background an aged look.

How fabulous are the Barb Wire Frames chipboard... omg just perfect for masculine layouts!!  You get 4 frames of various sizes in this set, and I have used the 2nd and 3rd largest on my layout.

To give chipboard frames an aged grungy feel, I altered them, by first coating with Dusty in Colour - Hot Chocolate, then whilst the paint was still wet I randomly sprinkled with Stampendous Aged Copper embossing powder and heat set.

For added dimension to the Barb Wire Frames, I have used one of the cogs from Cog Cluster chipboard, which I cut into 2 pieces and painted with Dusty in Colour - Faded Denim.  Once dry, I coated with the Dusty in Colour Clear Gloss Varnish and whilst wet sprinkled with blue Glitter Glass.  To tie in with the vintage feel I have altered the chipboard cogs with some Tim Holtz and Prima Mechanicals brads.   I used the same process on the Blueprint JOURNEY chipboard word.

Here are all the Dusty Attic goodies I have used to create my layout all available from The Dusty Attic On-Line Store.

Don't forget, you still have time to enter this month's gorgeous Mood Board Challenge to be in for a chance to win a $100 Gift Voucher from The Dusty Attic Store!!
